A Baroque style Dutch painted wood bombé three-drawer commode from my home country

This commode was born in the Netherlands and features a shaped top with beveled edges over three drawers, the upper one being smaller than the lower two. These drawers are built according to a dance of concave and convex shapes, typical of the Dutch production of the time.

The side posts are angled, thus accentuating the general impression of movement typical of the Baroque taste.

The skirt is scalloped on the front. The ensemble is raised on two lion paw feet in the front and two straight ones in the back.

The distressed paint is made of a light grey white color palette, compliments the sinuous lines beautifully.

Lovely as well to put against a dark grey or black colored ceiling
